The dachshund is one of the most versatile hunting breeds. You can find more information on their hunting versatility at the North American Teckel Club's website.  Our breeding is based on European hunting bloodlines, and our kennel is registered with the DTK (Deutscher Teckelklub).  Dachshunds out of our breeding are a foundation of the blood tracking dachshunds in North America. They have been used for the last 30 years in recovery of wounded deer, bear and elk in numerous states. "Von Moosbach-Zuzelek" dachshunds won multiple blood tracking tests.

We use our dachshunds mainly for tracking wounded game, but also for hunting small game, especially rabbits. We enjoy very much the AKC field trials for dachshunds. It is important to give field exercise to blood trackers. Preparing for and participating in AKC field trials for dachshunds is a way for us to keep our dogs in shape year around. Field trials are secondary to our interest in blood tracking, but in 1997 Gita was rated #1 AKC field trial dog and in 1999 Sabina was #1 as well.
